Since tomorrow is the 4th of July, it’s only fitting that we talk about fireworks—I mean the legal fireworks that are taking news headlines by storm. Shortly after last week’s Freshpaint 5, the Supreme Court struck down the Chevron doctrine, a move that will almost certainly shake up the healthcare industry.
And while I’ll be grilling hot dogs with one hand tomorrow, I’ll be using my other hand to refresh my news regarding the recent AHA lawsuit, which we covered in depth last week.
Legal stuff aside, we’ve got a sweet product update for Freshpaint Analytics users, plus an invite to our brand new community Slack channel.
Let’s get to it.
Product Update
We’re fine-tuning our analytics dashboard to cut through the noise of generic web analytics tools and uncover insights that healthcare marketers actually need. One feature we’re especially excited to share with you is Top Conversions and Top Events.
Conversions are one of the most important metrics to track, since they help marketers prove their ROI. And Top Events comes in handy to identify other important events that may not be shown in Top Conversions.
Want to see our conversion and events shortcuts, granular data down to the zip code, and everything else we’re building in our analytics dashboard?

Freshpaint's Compliant Corner
Last Friday, the Supreme Court overturned the Chevron doctrine, a decision that will substantially weaken the powers of regulatory agencies in the US—including those that oversee public health. After speaking with legal experts, our view is that this ruling will be a sea change that impacts healthcare policies.
For 40 years, courts have deferred to experts at agencies like the FDA and HHS to interpret laws and decide the best ways to apply them. Now, more of that power lies in the hands of the courts themselves.
Looking to the future, we anticipate that healthcare companies will challenge agency rules in court. We also expect Congress to write more explicit instructions in its laws that lay out exactly how agencies will implement them.
Industry News
Becker’s recently pointed out that health marketers have been increasingly adding "experience" to their titles, reflecting a shift toward a consumer-friendly approach.
We’ve all grown accustomed to the seamless experiences of shopping on Amazon or streaming our favorite shows on Netflix—now people are carrying those high expectations into healthcare.
However, as healthcare organizations elevate their user experiences, they have to take a privacy-first approach in doing so. Features like embedded maps, videos, and forms may reduce friction in consumers’ journeys—but they can increase your risk of violating privacy regulations.
If you want to create amazing experiences without compromising patient privacy, it starts with our Healthcare Privacy Platform.
