Hey there,

I tried a little experiment this week...I asked ChatGPT to help me write part of this newsletter. The plan was simple: have it dig up some fresh healthcare news that would be useful for you all. Easy, right?

 

Wellllll....turns out AI isn't quite ready to moonlight as a healthcare marketing reporter. What I got back was a couple of random product press releases and a very lukewarm article about AI in marketing. (Not exactly newsletter material.)

 

So lesson learned: this thing still works best when a real human (hi, that's me) is behind the keyboard. Donโ€™t worry, I'm not outsourcing the Freshpaint 5 anytime soon.

 

Anyway, here's what I actually found for you this week:

Product Update: LinkedIn cAPI + GTM

We've updated the LinkedIn cAPI GTM Template so you can now send along extra event properties -- like email, amount, or anything else you need -- without workarounds. This makes it much simpler to capture the full context of your conversions.

 

We also tightened up the migration process. If you're moving from native LinkedIn tags in GTM, those now map directly to Freshpaint's LinkedIn cAPI tags, instead of defaulting to LinkedIn Ads tags. (And if you prefer to stay on LinkedIn Ads, you can still switch the destination type after migration.)

 

Finally, we refreshed our documentation to clarify how to set the conversion_id. The short version:

  • If you're using GTM, set it directly in GTM.
  • If you're using Autotrack, set it with a Transformation.

This update will be especially helpful for anyone who needs to pass properties like email into LinkedIn cAPI events through GTM.
